Garden Tour
Tickets are available for the Peaks Island Garden Tour, 10-3, July 30, 2011.
The tour features 9 island gardens and it is a celebration of the 150th anniversary of Brackett Memorial United Methodist Church. Proceeds of this event will support the many missions of the church that support the Peaks Island community.
The gardens are traditional. historical and whimsical and include our community garden.
The Fifth Maine garden is on the tour and there will be hot dogs and cold drinks sold at the Fifth during mid day.
Cold drinks and light refreshments are available in the Sanford/Foster tour gardens..

Tickets purchased and paid for by July 27 are $17. After this date the tickets are $20.
Tickets will also be on sale on Friday July 29th from 10-6 at Hannigan's Market and on the day of the tour, in front of Ashmore Realty and at The Fifth Maine from 9-11.
Please make checks payable to Brackett Methodist Church. roceeds support Brackett Church's many missions on our island and the wider community.

Getting to Peaks: Casco Bay Ferry: we recommend you take the 9:15 or 10:15 boat, be sure to allow time to park and buy your ticket. Transortation on the island: This is a walking tour with limited shuttle service available. The gardens are not handicap accessible. you may brinng a bike with you on the ferry (for a fee) or rent a bike at Brad's bike shop, located a short distance from the boat. Food and drink: There is a cafe on your left as you walk off the boat and three restaurants in the vicinity of th eboat where you may stop for lunch. Hannigan's Market makes sandwiches to go. There are hotdog/lobster roll carts near the boat and there will be food and drink available for sale at the Fifth maine Regiment (one of the gardens on the tour.) There will be cool drinks and light refreshments served at the gardens near Evergreen. Bathrooms: Public bathrooms are located in the parking lot near the boat, at the Fifth Maine, and at the public library. |
